PARIS (EJP)—Three French soldiers were stabbed outside of a Jewish community center in the center of Nice, southern France.
None of the soldiers were seriously wounded and the attacker, who bears the same name as the attacker of the Hyper Cacher supermarket in Paris, was detained.
The soldiers were standing guard as part of France’s anti-terror patrol set off by last month’s attack at the kosher supermarket that left four dead.
Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi said the attacker had an identity card with the name Moussa Coulibaly. A man with the same name killed four people at the kosher supermarket last month.
In addition to some 10,000 troops dispatched throughout France, 4,700 police officers were deployed at all 717 Jewish schools across the country, according to Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve.
Last week, Israel’s Diaspora Affairs Ministrer Natfali Bennett presented the cabinet with a report on anti-Semitic trends over the past year, which found that France is the “most dangerous country for Jews today.”
